Finally!

The day has come. Finally! Today is the day that my website goes live.

The day has come. Finally! Today is the day that my website goes live. There were several months of stumbling blocks, frustrations and delays. At times I wondered if it was going to happen at all. I wondered if I should just make art and forget the rest because making art makes me happy. The rest, at times, seems to be a headache.

Then I read an article in Artists & Makers magazine that made me feel encouraged because it reminded me of the end result of my bigger picture and all these things that can feel time consuming or get frustrating are steps in getting me there. In this particular article, Jen Cushman says, "you may have to spend more time reading business and marketing advice books than you do making art. You may feel stressed as weeks fly by while you're designing business cards or creating a mailing list, writing a blog, or setting up a website. It's all good. Every time you feel stressed, remind yourself that you're working to bust the myth of the starving artist. You're showing yourself and the world that being a creative professional also means having business savvy."

While I am not as business savvy as I would like to be YET, I am making progress. Sometimes it's baby steps. Sometimes it's a larger stride. As long as I continue to move forward, I will be happy with the progress no matter what the pace. So, without further ado... welcome to my website!
